Martha Speaks Reading Buddies

Students in Mrs. Britton and Mrs. Devens' 1st grade class participated in a reading buddies activity with third grade students from Mrs. Crombar's room yesterday. Students enjoyed activities on the smartboard and reading with their partners.

Career Day

Students in 7th and 8th grades had the opportunity to interview adults in our community about their career path. Students prepared questions ahead of time and interviewed people with a variety of careers. A special thank you to all of the people who took time out of their work day to be available for the students!

Regional Science Fair

Giant City students competed against other junior high students from our region today. Science teacher Chris White took several students and their projects to Southern Illinois University for competition. Five students received monetary awards and two students advanced to State! Congratulations!

Book Reports

Students in Mrs. Britton's and Mrs. Deven's 1st grade class demonstrated their first book report to each other today!

Wild Hair Day at Giant City!

Most students wrapped up their final day of ISAT testing today. Students were then able to "let their hair down" in a fun contest this afternoon. Ribbons were awarded for the craziest, biggest, prettiest, and most colorful hair styles for each grade. The judges had a hard time deciding!

Rock the Test!

Students enjoy a little down time after completing two sections of the ISAT test today. Painting pet rocks proved to be a lot of fun.
