State Champions!

The Giant City boys basketball team are the new Class S State Champions! The boys defeated New Hope scoring a total of 73 points!

Amazing Race!

Junior High students at Giant City participated in the Amazing Race. Teams of six students completed tasks such as an egg drop, cracking codes, played a tune, and shots targets with marshmallows. Most of the students really seemed to enjoy the activities. The winning team received gift cards!

PRIDE Palooza

Giant City Students demonstrating good behavior were able to participate in the PRIDE Palooza. Each of the K-4th grade classrooms had a special theme and activities for students.

Giant City Boys Win!

The Giant City Boys Basketball Team win their second round game in the state playoffs this evening. The Giants played a tough Germantown team for the victory. 

Science Classes Dissect Squid

Students in Mr. White's science class had the opportunity to dissect squid in class last week. The students learned about different aspects of the nervous system. Students have recently dissected earth worms and will soon start on crawfish.

Boys win first round of state playoffs!

The Giant City Boys Basketball team easily defeated the St. Ann's Saints from Nashville today!  The next round of playoffs will be Monday, Feb 10, 2014 at 4:45 pm in Rend Lake. Go Giants!

SIU Women Athletes Visit Giant City

National Women and Girls In Sports Day is celebrated in February. The theme of "Passing the Torch, Blazing a Trail" encourages women and girls to participate  in sports, and eliminate discrimination. 
Today women athletes from Southern Illinois University visited Giant City to encourage our girl athletes to keep participating!
